English Studies Excursion

6 Dec 2023

On Friday 20 June, students from Year 12 English Studies had the opportunity to participate in an excursion to Penrith Plaza. Students had the chance to experience the challenges of planning an excursion as part of their unit of study ‘On the Road’ and were able to watch the new live-action movie “How to Train your Dragon” as part of their Term one unit “Big Film”. The day also included lunch and some time to explore the shopping centre. The following comments provide a snapshot of the experience:

"I think the best part of the excursion was being able to go outside of the school and have fun. The massive dragon falling into the volcano was my favourite part of the film.” Christian F.

"The best part of Friday was seeing the movie, my favourite part of the film was the Red Death, with the CGI used to create the beast. While we were window shopping, I found something I was looking for in a store I wanted to get, but I could not purchase it. I will just have to go back another day.” Sean T.

"For me, the best part of the excursion was going to some of the stores at the Plaza to look around. My favourite moment from the film was the ending (no spoilers). I enjoyed the whole day” Harrison D.
